KickStart Advanced Training Session

The third group of selected players has been announced and will be ready for some extra coaching. This session is for u14s and u16s again and on the 6th of June 2026 at the Hawston Sports Grounds.

Tournament # 5 - MP City FC (Hawston)

On Saturday 23 May, the JFFC travelled back to Hawston, where the fifth tournament of the season was hosted by MP City FC. Originally scheduled for Mt Pleasant, the fields were not operationally ready for us to host.

In this tournament we had 9 Clubs entered; 30 teams participating and over 450 players. Many parents and supporters also attended on the day.

The weather was good for us with early clouds and moisture giving way to a beautiful day of football.

The fields were ready and the layouts prepared for all the competitions in their varous age groups.

The boot bank is fulfilling its purposes extremely well and helping those children who do not have a pair of boots, with a loan pair for the day.

The KickStart Soccer School was out to select players from u14 and u16 for the next advanced training session to be held on 6 June 2026.

The u8 competition was once again full of excitement and with SouthGate Academy returning after the previous tournament where they entered for the first time, it was a competition drawing the most spectators. The final was hosted again between Shibobo FC and Vivo United FC which delivered a humdinger of a match with Vivo pipping the Shibobo boys at the post with 1-0.

The player of the Tournament went to Shibobo FC's Chrisray Abrahams for his excellent performances on the day.

The u10 section had 6 teams entered and no team could score more than 2 goals in a match; such was the strength of the competition. In the end, through sheer determination, it was Gouga United FC that lifted the trophy as u10 champions of T#5.

The Player of the Tournament was Nade Aplon of Vivo United FC.

In the u12 section, we had 9 entries, making it our biggest competition on the day.

The results showing that teams were closer in competition than before with no match having more than 3 goals scored in it. It was in this tough conditions that Hawston FC pulled the results that was needed to make thenm Champions on the T#5 tournament.

The Player of the Tournament for u12 was Chester Erasmus of Gouga United FC.

It must also be stated the massive improvement shown by SouthGate Academy from bredasdorp who have now improved their defensive play considerably and becoming competitive in matches.

In the u14 competition, we had 7 competing teams. the football put forth was excellent, and KickStart scouting players for the next advanced training session.

The competition winners was eventually Cape Agulhas Academy who had an undefeated run in the day to take the tournament and the 20 Championship points it has on offer.

The Player of the Tournament for u14 was the Cape Agulhas Academy player, Abel Matade.

In the u16 competition it was the championship leaders, Vivo United FC that showed their season dominance by taking the T#5 tournament as well.

Player of the Tournament was Deano van Wyk of MP City FC.

Overall it was a very successful tournament with minimal issues requiring sorting out. The discipline was on point and the players, teams and clubs can only be commended for their conduct.

We now march on the Gansbaai for T#6.

T#5 Incoming - Hermanus

U16 - New Rest Academy Suspended!

The u16 team of New Rest Academy has been suspended by the League due to violent conduct on and off the field.

The team will be suspended for 2 years with no competing in the JFFC u16 competion for the duration of that time period.

Tournament # 4 - Bredasdorp

On Saturday 2 May, the JFFC travelled to the picturesque town of Bredasdorp, where the fourth tournament of the season was hosted.

Joint hosts were the Cape Agulhas Academy and SouthGate Academy who produced an amazing tournament at the Bredasdorp High School.

In this tournament we had 11 Clubs entered; 38 teams participating and over 560 players. Many parents and supporters also attended on the day.

The weather was challenging with strong winds in the morning and threats of rain throughout. Although it was challenging, the players produced excellent football.

The KickStart Soccer School was out to select players from u10 and u12 for the next advanced training session.

The u8 competition was full of excitement and wih the inclusion of SouthGate Academy as the 4th team, added much spice to the fixtures. The age group ended with a final between Shibobo FC and Vivo United FC which was thrilling as the crowd of supporters and parents lined the circumference of the field.

The cacophony of supporting shouts to the players ekevated their game and added to the tension of what was a fantastic match. Shibobo FC pipping Vivo by 2-1 in the final.

The player of the Tournament went to Shibobo FC's Tristan van Zyl.

Although Vivo United FC lost the final, they did enough to consolidate their Championship position as log leaders with the acquired points.

In the u10 section, we had 8 teams entered and produced quality football for the spectators and supporters.

It was the unbeaten run of New Rest Academy that led to them being crowned tournament champions fo Bredasdorp for u10s.

Their captain was also honoured as Player of the Tournament, Limiluhle Maligas, who produced eye catching performances throughout.

Vivo United FC Raptors and Gouga United FC still lead the charge for Championship glory and it seems the title race will be between these two top performers. Their quality is without question. One feels that the New rest Academy challenge will be too late.

In the u12 section, we had 11 entries and was the largest contingent of teams participating. In total, we have had 14 teams challenge for glory.

In Bredasdorp, we had New Rest Academy also take the tournament crown with another unbeaten run on the day. Something good is cooking in Stanford at the moment it seems.

The player of the tournament however, went to Liam Adonis of Shibobo FC for his stunning performances.

In the u14's age group competition, it is MP City FC that are running ahead of the following pack, but they could not overcome the threat of Caledon FC who ran out tournament winners. An unbeaten perfromance allowed them to take top spot in Bredasdorp, earning valuable points in the Championship.

Jaden Newman (Caledon FC) was selected as the player of the tournament for his sterling performances.

The u16 tournament competition took place on the school hockey field, which is just outside of the school premises. Although away frommuch of the spectators, the competition was enthralling. With Vivo United FC showing that they are there to take the tournament and championship soon.

Vivo United FC lifted the trophy and local team, City Killers FC player, Indiphile Ngcondo was selected as player of the tournament.

Congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to a spectacular T#5 in Hermanus on the 23 May 2026.

Tournament # 3 - Hawston

On 11 April 2026, the JFFC hosted its third tournament of the 2026 season circuit at the Hawston Sports Grounds in Hawston. Hosted by Hawston FC, the day was once again a raging success. Although there could not be an u12 competition, as it was an error on the side of the Municipality in regard to the booking of the field; the competition for u12s will be held at a later stage, giving those teams an opportunity to claim valuable Championship points.

In this tournament we had 12 Clubs entered; 38 teams participating and over 540 players. Many parents and supproters attended on the day.

In the u8 competition the teams of Vivo United FC, Shibobo FC and Gouga United FC challenged for the honours again.

It was Vivo United FC who took the trophy with Panahse Nyandoro of Vivo claiming the Player of the Tournament medal.

In the u10 competition, it was challenged by 7 teams. Namely, New Rest Academy, Hawston FC, MP City FC, Vivo United FC Eagles, Vivo United FC Raptors, XI Defenders FC and Gouga United FC.

This competition showed us talented players who were willing to leave everything on the pitch at the final whistle.

Player of the Tournament was Vivo United FC player Nade Aplon. Tournament champions went to the Vivo United FC Raptors.

In the u14 competition we had 10 teams in competition. Cape Agulhas Academy; FC Berlin; New Rest Academy; Hawston FC; Gouga United FC; Caledon FC; City Stars FC; MP FC City; XI Defenders FC and Vivo United FC.

The matches were overall very close affaird with many drawn matches, yet the outcome was significant as the tournament champions were MP City FC. The player of the tournament went to the same club, the player Alberto Oraai.

In the u16 competition there were 7 entered teams. Caledon FC, Hawston FC, Cape agulhas Academy; MP City FC, Vivo United FC, Gouga United FC and FC Wanderers. Although FC Wanderers withdrew the morning of the tournament.

Vivo United FC were crowned tournament champions and Sive Poswa the player of the tournament.

Our next tournament will be 2 May in Bredasdorp.

T#3 Incoming - Hawston

T# 2 - Debriefing Meeting

Scheduled for Tuesday 31 March 2026 at 19:00 on the Zoom Virtual Platform for all teams coaches and managers.

The link will be circulated on the WhatsApp Group.

The feedback was positive and good. We appreciate the feedback, good and bad as we know we want the experiences to be excellent for the children.

Tournament # 2 - Applewood

On 21 March 2026, the JFFC hosted its second tournament of the 2026 season circuit at the Applewood Primary School in Elgin. Hosted by Shibobo FC, the day was once again a raging success.

Covered with blessed sunshine and immaculate playing fields, the teams were out to challenge for the trophies on offer and chase valuable Championship Points.

In this tournament we had 34 teams and 495 players, with plenty more supporters and spectators.

In the u8 competition the teams of Vivo United FC, Shibobo FC and Gouga United FC challenged for the honours.

It was Vivo United FC who took the trophy with Jamie Smith of Vivo claiming the Player of the Tournament medal.

In the u10 competition, it was challenged by 6 teams. Namely, New Rest Academy, Hawston FC, MP City FC, Vivo United FC Eagles, Vivo United FC Raptors, and Gouga United FC.

The football was frenetic and challenging with no team wanting to give an inch, with the results showing as such. In the end, it was New Rest Academy that pulled on the tournament victor jersey and walked away with the trophy. The Player of the Tournament went to the Hawston FC goalkeeper, John-Ray Jacobs for his stellar perfromances in goal.

In the u12 competition, the biggest competiton on the day, was challenged by 10 teams.

City Stars FC, MP City FC, Caledon FC, Vivo United FC Eagles, SouthGate Academy, Gouga United FC, Vivo United FC Raptors, Shibobo FC, Hawston FC, and Cape Agulhas Academy.

The day belonged to Gouga United FC who lifted the trophy as victors of the u12 tournament. The Player of the Tournament went to Prince Kangatela of Shibobo FC.

In the u14 competition we had 9 teams competing for honour, glory and championship points.

New Rest Academy, City Stars FC, Vivo United FC, Cape Agulhas Academy, MP City FC, Gouga United FC, Caledon FC, Hawston FC, and newcomers Royal United FC.

These teams threw everything to gain valuable points to be crowned champions, yet that honour belonged to City Stars FC of Kleinmond who lifted the trophy.

The Player of the Tournament was Cameron Mather of Vivo United FC.

The u16 competition was challenged by 6 teams. Cape Agulhas Academy, Caledon FC, Gouga United FC, Vivo United FC, Hawston FC and MP City FC. It was the performances of Vivo United FC that brought them tournament honours in lifting the trophy. With Hawston FC player Morthen Olivier taking the Player of the Tournament medal.

Overall, the teams are to be commended for their discipline and their cleanliness in ensurng the hosting venue was left in a spotless condition after such a big event.

We look forward to going back to Hawston on the 11th of April when Hawston FC host the 3rd tournament in the JFFC.

T#1 - Debriefing Meeting

After each tournament, it is customary to hold a debriefing meeting where clubs contribute in where areas of concern need to be addressed.

All contributions are discussed and ways forward are looked at to see if the risk element can be reduced or even nullified.

Issues like age cheating; time management; respect between coaches were highlighted and would be addressed accordingly.

Tournament # 1 - Hawston

The 21st of February, 39 clubs with 540 players descended upon the coastal town of Hawston for the first tournament of the 2026 season.

In the u8 competition, it was Gouga United FC that took the trophy followed closely by Vivo United FC and Shibobo FC. All earning their first Championship points.

The Player of the Tournament (new initiative) was given a medal. It was awarded to Panashe Nyandoro of Vivo United FC.

In the u10 competition, we had 6 teams competing for the top honours.

Vivo United FC Raptors, Vivo United FC Eagles, Gouga United FC, Hawston FC, MP City FC, and XI Defender FC.

The competition was tough and the support was great. The boys delivered on their potential.

Gouga United did enough to bring home the trophy with the Top Goal Scorer accolade going to Benjamin van Zyl of Vivo United FC having scored 6 goals in the tournament.

The Player of the Tournament however, went to MP City FC's Nurdien May for his excellent performances. He received his medal from the adjudicators and his smile was d=befitting the occasion.

Out of the u10 competition, 6 players were selected for the KickStart Advanced Training session that would take place next month. They were Nurdien May (MP City), Benjamin van Zyl (Vivo Utd), DJ Gillion (Hawston), Bulumko Bota (Hawston), Noah Muller (Vivo Utd), and Divante Williams (Vivo Utd).

In the u12 section, we had 10 teams competing for Championship points and tournament glory.

The teams were Shibobo FC, Caledon FC, Vivo United FCRaptors, Hawston FC, City Stars FC, Gouga United FC, MP City FC, New Rest Academy, Vivo United FC Eagles, and Cape Agulhas Academy.

Divided into two groups of 5, the outcome of the championship would be through a combined log table to determine the victor. Therefore, every match is of crucial importance as all goals and points count toward the log position.

The Player of the Tournament went to Timothy Alexander of MP City FC for his excellent performances on the day. The Top Goal Scorer was Philisande Mkulukelwo of City Stars FC for his 4 goals.

The winners on the day came from Kleinmond in the form of City Stars FC who bagged the trophy and 20 valuable Championship points.

The U14 Tournament was also challenged by 10 teams from the Overberg Region. Caledon FC, New Rest Academy, MP City FC, Hawston FC, Cape Agulhas Academy, Gouga United FC, Express FC, Vivo United FC, Real Madrid FC, and FC Berlin.

The tournament winners were MP City FC who outplayed all their opposition. However, the Player of the Tournament went to Cape Agulhas Academy's Abel Matade for his excellent play in the day.

In the u16 competition, 10 teams fought it out for top honours. MP City FC, Hawston FC, New Rest academy, Caledon FC, Cape Agulhas Academy, Express FC, Vivo United FC, Real Madrid FC, FC Wanderers, and Gouga United FC.

The competition was tough and the Player of the Tournament had to be given to two players for their sterling performances.

Luke Feldman of Cape Agulhas Academy as well as Imange Nanto of Gouga United FC both deserved medals and received them infront of an appreciative crowd who applauded their performances. It is guarenteed that these players will attend a Kickstart Advanced Training session soon.

It was Caledon FC that hoisted the trophy in victorious rupture before the jovial support. Congratulations to all those who participated and took home awards.

The JFFC also thanked all participants with a sweet or chocolate to say thank you for the entertainment of the day.

JFFC Workshop

On 14 February 2026 the Blue Ocean Group hosted its inaugural JFFC Workshop for Coaches and Managers at the Thusong Centre in Hawston.

Over 30 attendees arrived and were welcomed by a hot cup of coffee and a delicious muffin.

The day was opened in prayer and then a message of support from Overstrand Municipality Councelor Ronald Nutt.

Sessions hosted by Blue Ocean Dynamic, AVS Referee Academy and KickStart Soccer School were designed to empower, educate and uplift those in attendance whereby they can provide an improved service to their players.

The day ended with lunch provided by YVs Catering and water from Oasis Water in Hermanus.
